I teach all styles, ages, and abilities.

I’ve played and taught music all my life. I started taking lessons myself at 6 years old and continued through college. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston, 1989), have played in bands since the 7th grade and currently play in two bands in Asheville, along with the occasional pop-up gig. I was a public school math teacher for ten years, a summer camp counselor/director for 30 years, and have been teaching guitar since high school. I’m a lifelong guitarist and educator. I currently teach private guitar lessons and a youth rock band ensemble. Aside from music, I’ve been teaching computer programming/hardware and writing computer textbooks for the last 20 years.

I teach online via Skype, FaceTime, and Google Meet. I also teach in-person at Asheville Music School.
